Sure....just be sure to start with a clean chain that doesn't have residue from the old lube, or the silicone may not stick well. Be sure to protect the brakes and braking surfaces from overspray.
Depending on what kind of product you use, the silicone may not last very long, and it could be sticky. The best thing to do is clean the chain, let it dry, apply the lube, let it dry, apply it a second time and let that dry, and then use a clean rag to wipe it before riding. You'll get the most out of it that way and attract less grime. A good quality bike chain lube is still the best thing, but lots of lubes will work fine. Can I use silicone spray vs oil lube to lube my son's bike chain?
Yes.Can I use silicone spray vs oil lube to lube my son's bike chain?
whoa
hold on!
w/e u do dont do that
you dont want o do that because the spray will collect dirt and junk and make your chain all gummy and dirty
i ride bmx and you should wipe your chain clean off all grease and spray lube first.
then if its rusty i would say buy a new 1
you can get 1 for about 7 dollars or so at a local bike shop
but if its not rusty
spray some tri flo or dw 40 on an old towel and wipe the chain with the rag
making it a little bit oily and still clean at the same time
u dont really wanna soke the chain just dampen it a little bit
hope this works
ad have safe fun
use WD-40
