I need a sealant for PVC - silicone will not work - No glue seems to hold.?

The best way to show what I need is imagine gluing two 5 gallon plastic buckets together. Nothing I can find will permanately stick to this plastic.I need a sealant for PVC - silicone will not work - No glue seems to hold.?
Have you tried scuffing the surface, cleaning the surface, then using glue on it? Scuffing it will help the glue adhere better.I need a sealant for PVC - silicone will not work - No glue seems to hold.?
Robert, Even though most everyone here has tried to help, and it appears, failed, maybe one of us could be of more help if you'd tell us for sure, just what it is you're trying to do. If it's to secure the two plastic buckets together, how are you trying to do it, at the bottoms, or tops?? insides???? what???
have you tried model glue . you really need to know the type of plastic you are working with it obviously is not pvc so no amount of pvc glue will work model glue is for polystyrene (ps) most plastics have a glue that works best with that type of plastic
as buckets are not the same as pvc pipe i would highly doubt solvent welding the two buckets together will hold for very long . i would suggest bonding/welding together by heat .
Are you sure that the plastic is pvc. If it is the go to a hardware store and ask for pvc glue.
Go to the plumbing section of home depot or lowes and get a can of PVC pipe primer and PVC pipe cement. This should do the trick.

If PVC glue doesn't work, it is not PVC. Do they have a tight fit? An epoxy should work, but again it needs a tight fit.
