Will using a silicone dish in the microwave speed up cooking time? ?

Im curious as to whether using a silicone dish would be more efficient at cooking water or food than using a ceramic one in the microwaveWill using a silicone dish in the microwave speed up cooking time? ?
microwaves work by making water molecules inside the object vibrate, and this equilibrates as heat in the surrounding material.

i would assume that both silicone and ceramics have a rather low water content, and thus the microwave is not going to heat the container significantly.

so it comes down to which container has the lower heat capacity. this would keep the heat in the object not the container.

but, i would be vary careful about what you put in your microwave. heating certain compounds (like saran wrap) in a microwave has been shown to cause dangerous chemicals (dioxin) to leach into the food, and thus you should not then eat what was inside the container.

microwave popcorn is also very bad for you. the teflon in the bag leaches into the popcorn at high temperature and results in you eating a carcinogen.

stick with ';microwave safe'; containers. i would be surprised if anything made from silicone is microwave safe.
