Is stretching with silicone bad?

I wasn't sure if it'd infect my ears and I dont want to take that chance.

Also im allergic to metals so there's a problem for me.Is stretching with silicone bad?
Yep, stretching with silicone is really bad.

It fuses to all the microtears in the skin, and gets stuck. Its not nice.

I'd suggest stretching with acrylic tapers, then wearing glass jewellery.

Acrylic is bad for fresh stretches or long-term. Again with the fusing, its porous and your body can break it down over time, releasing acrylic acid.

Wood, stone and other organics should also be avoided in fresh stretches, more fusing, its porous, and it'll get smelly. But its great in healed lobes.

What metals are you allergic to? Titaniums pretty hard to be allergic to. Most people who think they're allergic to metals are just allergic to cheap alloys like stainless steel, and gold and silver body jewellery. Is stretching with silicone bad?
silicone is not a good thing to stretch with. once you 'pop' it in, it continues to expand for several days can cause more tearing and pain. also, your skin will fuse to the silicone.

most people that tell me they are allergic to metal are really only allergic to cheap metals like tin and nickel. surgical stainless is usually fine, but if you are actually allergic, titanium or solid gold is the way to go. (gold is so expensive, so go with titanium.)
The key to good stretching is not ripping the skin.

If there is no rips or tears there is no way of exposing infection to the ear lobe.

Yes silicone is fine. Have you considered some natural stone plugs or wood. Wood is great to absorb oils and those pesky ear funk smells.

Wood also does not slip out like other plugs.
you could have a bad reaction to silicone but who knows? after i put my silicone gauges in my ears they were flaky and chapped. disgsting.

but i wear metal ones now or glass ones. go to like hottopic.com and browse the different kinds they have. they also have plastic.
its not smart to because it is a tacky porous material. use glass plugs and try taping to your next gauge with PTFE tape.
