It won't hurt the paint, but I wouldn't recommend it. It may look great now, but it might not look so good later. Think about it this way. If silicone spray were a good solution to shining up your car, body shops and detail places would be using it but they don't. That tells you that it's not a good long term solution. If it doesn't look good later then it will be hard to wash off and you'll probably strip off your wax trying to get it off. That's not the end of the world, but it could mean a lot of work for you later. Silicone is shiny, but it doesn't offer the same protection for your paint that regular wax does. Wax does have silicones in it, but it also has other stuff that your paint needs as well. I wiped silicone spray on my car and it looks great, can I harm the paint with the silicone spray?
