Below the muscle is very, very painful at first...above the muscle wasn't horrible but very uncomfortable. Also, depends on your pain tolerance level.
i wud personally not get them,not that i had experienced it,nut i read that when you are done-it feels like a ton of bricks are hanging down and you loose ALL sensitivity around and on your nipple,you won't be able to feel if you touch your nipple-it will be ';dead';! so i'd say think very careful b4 going for the implants%26gt; and of course there will be a scar!
no experience as a patient but have as a nurse. They cannot be done on the NHS and if the operation goes wrong or they burst your money would have been wasted as you end up back to square one but with scars on top!! ( they remove the implants but cannot replace them on the nhs)
I love their appearance and feel-women are so lucky to be able to make themselves so pretty/attractive

I haven't got them but am also looking into getting them done in the near future. i am waiting for a procedure to come over here were they go in from your navel so you have no scaring.at present in America it costs $3000. I've read that with this procedure it feels like you have done alot of exercise as the stomach and breasts are sore and swollen but not painful.
