I have a Mathmos Thaw, would food dye, dye the silicone mold?

For those of you who don't know the Mathmos Thaw is a candle holder with a silicone mold you fill with water and put in the freezer until solid then place on the holder over a tealight and it melts the ice while making pretty light.


I was considering experimenting and perhaps making coloured ice, however I don't want to try unless I know that food dye wouldn't dye the silicone.


So if anyone knows either way, that'd be great :D

could you cover the silicone in clingfilm?not too near the candle or it could burn
